Botox
With every facial expression, the facial muscles contract, forming wrinkles called frown lines, brow furrows, and crow’s feet. After years of crinkling and wrinkling, those lines start to linger longer and can become more pronounced. Fortunately, there is a way to temporarily reduce these moderate to severe lines.
Botox Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA) is a prescription medicine that is injected into the facial muscles which relaxes these muscles and limits their ability to contract. An improvement can be seen within 48 hours and last 3-4 months, although results may vary.
At this time, the only alternative to Botox is recently FDA-approved Dysport, which offers similar results.
